Hot Springs Island

I was very pleased to see the trend of the players looking creatures up in the Field Guide after I described them continued this week. We got some good adventuring done, and ended the session teaming up with a pair of NPCs (one of whom doesn’t speak the language) to go raid a dungeon. I’ll have to prepare some character sheets for them and figure out why they were interested (it was a random encounter) by next time—one of the NPCs is a water wizard, and there is a nereid trapped in the dungeon, so perhaps I’ll go for an “I sensed a disturbamce in the force” type thing, which can also be a way for the players to learn that the magic painting they’ve got is also a nereid.

I think it’s about time for me to leave a magic weapon lying around for them to find too, they’ve levelled up a couple of times now and had their first run-in with a creature immune to nonmagical damnage.
